Why do flat earthers think using globetrotter, globetard, and other insults will make the educated arguer fall for the silly flat-earth belief?

Some of the lies in the Flat Earth narrative seem to exist for that purpose. They are so transparently, obviously false, that they must have some other purpose than evangelism. Why would they make these claims, except to recite the creed in public for other devotees to see?

Many of their comments in social media make no sense as evangelism. But they make perfect sense as community affirmation and reinforcement.

When they use those terms, they are not trying to convert newcomers to the FE belief. They are signalling their tribal loyalty to other Flat Earthers and their Thought Leaders.
